May 28 - Effective August 1, Nils Skeby will join Associated Danish Ports (ADP) as its new chief executive officer.

Skeby previously served as ceo of Dansk Svejse Teknik, and has held several management positions in Danish industrial companies. He is currently a member of the Port of Hanstholm board of directors.

Skeby replaces Jens Peter Peters, who has served as APD ceo since 2000 and has decided to retire from the business.

ADP owns and operates the Danish ports of Fredericia, Nyborg and Middelfart and says that Fredericia and Nyborg are regularly used for the unloading of oversized project cargo in the form of tanks, boilers and machinery.

The organisation says that it is finding that the items to be handled are becoming larger and heavier, and its newest quays and hinterland facilities are designed for this significant increase in load size. At the Port of Fredericia, four mobile cranes each have a 110-tonne lifting capacity.
