February 22 - Heavy lift operator ALE Ib

The boiler was moved from the Free Trade Zone (FTZ) in Barranquilla to the city's port, a distance of 1.5 km. Barranquilla is located by the Magdalena River and is Colombia's largest industrial city and port on the Caribbean.

When the consignment arrived at the quayside, the boiler was unloaded from the transport platform with a crane supplied by the port.

The movement required four x 10 lines of SPMTs and took five hours to execute. During the transport, a number of overhead electrical cables had to be temporarily removed to allow passage of the boiler.

Meanwhile, in Spain, ALE Ibërica was involved in the installation of two 45 tonne propellers on a supply ship at Seville shipyard. ALE installed two 70 tonne capacity strand lifting units on the deck of the ship in order to install the propellers.
