August 10 - ALE is currently delivering a number of substations, pipe rack and process modules from Mina Zayed port and various fabrication yards to the Satah al-Razboot (SARB4) project site on Zirku Island in the UAE.

ALE's UAE branch was awarded the 18-month project, which will see it provide a number of services for the project, including weighing, land and marine transportation, load-ins, load-outs, barge chartering and installations.

The UK headquartered heavy lift specialist will utilise a variety of cranes and specialised transport equipment, including barges and self-propelled modular transporters (SPMT).

"This is one of the largest offshore projects that ALE Middle East has been involved in," said ALE's project manager Shafic Tillawi. "As we approach the next stage, we are preparing to handle and load-out larger and more challenging modules, with some modules as heavy as 1,700 tonnes."

The SARB4 oilfield is expected to add an additional 100,000 barrels per day (bpd) to the overall oil production capacity of the UAE upon its scheduled commissioning later in 2016.
