Allcargo generates Indian result

March 4 - Indian project forwarder Allcargo Logistics has shifted a 218-tonne generator from Mumbai port to Bhagad, India, on behalf TATA Projects - the EPC wing of the Indian multinational TATA Group.

The 8.6 m x 5.3 m x 4.4 m electrical generator was unloaded from the vessel Palessa using two of its on board cranes and positioned the load on a waiting barge.
The cargo was placed on pre-welded stools and beams. 28 lashing points were used to secure the heavy load to the barge.
Dredging and cutting the jetty walls was completed in order to align the barge. At high tide, a 15-axle Goldhofer hydraulic trailer was rolled underneath the over-dimensional load and raised to transfer the weight of the generator from its stools. The generator was then safely rolled-off the barge.
The trailer was then moved by road through Roha Town, Maharashtra, using two Volvo puller trucks. A number of overhead service lines had to be precisely cleared en route.
The generator was delivered to the Bhagad jobsite safely and positioned securely on its beams and stools.
Allcargo Logistics is a member to both the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) and Cargo Equipment Experts (CEE) networks.
