March 23 - Arklow Shipping's newbuild vessel Arklow Breeze has been successfully launched at the Westerbroek yard of Ferus Smit.

Arklow Breeze is the sixth and last vessel in a series that will be delivered to Ireland's Arklow Shipping.

The ship is a general cargo vessel that will mainly be employed in the shipment of wheat corn and other bulk commodities in European waters. The 8,600 dwt 'bulbless' vessel, however, is also well suited for the transport of project cargoes due to its strengthened top deck, says Arklow

Arklow Breeze is about 119 m long, 14.9 m wide and 9.7 m deep, and is scheduled to join its five sister vessels - Arklow Beacon, Arklow Beach, Arklow Bay, Arklow Bank and Arklow Brave - in April 2015.
