BBC Chartering’s latest newbuild Lakermax vessel, BBC Sao Paulo, has passed sea trials.
Like her sisterships, the 13,000 dwt multipurpose vessel is equipped with two Liebherr LS 250 cranes, which have a combined lifting capacity up to 500 tonnes and a maximum hoist of 36 m.
The design of the LakerMax vessels has been optimised to fit both the St. Lawrence Seaway and the Great Lakes. Last month, BBC Chartering marked a milestone in the newbuild programme with the inaugural transit of the BBC Houston through the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Seaway System as it delivered a full shipload of wind turbine blades to Erie, Pennsylvania.
The first vessel in the series, BBC Leer, was delivered last year.
