February 10 - BDP International is to open an office in Cairo, Egypt this month, which will be overseen by country manager, Emad Tawfik.
Tawfik will report to BDP's head of North Africa and Turkey, Fikret Ersoy.
The Cairo branch will offer a range of services, including ocean and air freight export and import, Customs clearance and project logistics for the chemical, petrochemical, energy, automotive, healthcare and retail sectors.
In addition to the Cairo office, BDP plans to open a second Egypt-based office in Alexandria, which is scheduled to open in March.
"Egypt is strategically located between the Middle East and North Africa, and is geographically close to European markets as well," said BDP managing director, Europe, Yves Letange.
"The country is also home to a large, well-trained workforce, and its strong productivity growth underpins its potential. Significantly, a number of our largest clients already have operations there. We are bullish on Egypt."
