Boa’s semi-submersible heavy lift barge Boabarge 35 is available in the Mediterranean Sea from September, underscoring the company’s regional presence following the appointment of Sandro Lipani to lead its recently opened Genoa office in Italy.

With a free deck area of 3,600 sq m and uniform deck strength of 31.5 tonnes per sq m, the Boabarge 35 is ideally suited for the transport, load-out and float-off of heavy cargo, said Boa.

It added that its versatile design and capabilities can support a wide range of operations across various industries.

Earlier this year, the company established an office in Genoa, Italy, to strengthen its presence in the Mediterranean. It serves as a regional hub with a strong focus on barge fleet operations and complex project support – key areas in Boa’s expanding service portfolio, the company explained.

Lipani, who has over 20 years of experience in the shipping industry, will head up the Genoa office and play an important role in driving the company’s long-term strategic development in the Mediterranean region.

“His leadership marks an important step in Boa’s commitment to strengthening its global footprint and advancing its position in key market segments across the Mediterranean and beyond,” Boa said.

Lipani rejoins Boa after nearly eight years. Across his career he has held senior roles which include newbuilding supervision, technical and project management, chartering and operations, and most recently, general management.
