Cargolux has expanded its Asia-Pacific network with the addition of weekly Boeing 747 freighter flights to Jakarta, Indonesia.

The service links Luxembourg with the Indonesian capital before continuing to Hong Kong and Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

While the majority of the cargo on the route is expected to comprise apparel, footwear, pharmaceuticals, perishables and live animals, Cargolux pointed out the B747F’s capacity to handle large items such as equipment used in the oil and gas industry.

The airline has been present in Jakarta for over two decades through partnerships, interline agreements and charter flights.
