November 5 - In the upcoming Christmas and New Year period, curfews are being implemented in Queensland and Western Australia, limiting oversized vehicles on state roads, reports Peter Tippett Haulage.

In Queensland, movement will be forbidden between 00:01 hrs on December 24, 2013 and 23:59 hrs on January 2, 2014 for all loads between 2.5 m and 4.5 m wide.

For all over-dimensional vehicles and vehicle combinations which require more than one pilot/escort vehicle, or a combination of police and pilot/export vehicles, there will be no movement from 00:01 hrs on December 19, 2013 until 23:59 hrs on January 2, 2014.

In Western Australia, from sunset on December 18, 2013 until sunrise on January 4, 2014, oversize vehicles exceeding 2.7 m in width and 30 m in length will not be permitted to travel on Forrest Highway and Old Coast Road, between the intersections of Pinjarra Road and Peppermint Grove Road.

From sunset on December 23, 2013 to sunrise on December 27, 2013, and between sunset on December 30, 2013 and sunrise on January 4, 2013, oversize vehicles between 4.5 - 5.5 m in width and/or 30 - 40 m in length will not be allowed to travel on the following highways: Albany; Brand; Eyre; Great Eastern; South Western (Armadale to Bunbury); Great Northern (Roe Highway to Mt Magnet).

Movement of oversize vehicles exceeding 5.5 m in width and/or 40 m in length requiring a traffic escort warden must be completed by sunset on December 19, 2013.
