June 29 - Almaty, Kazakhstan-based project cargo forwarder Cruz Logistics recently required two IL-76TD journeys on consecutive days to move four load banks from Fujairah, UAE to Uralsk, Kazakhstan for a significant customer.

Sanju K Mani, head of sales and marketing, Cruz Logistics, says the one-year old forwarder moves a considerable amount of cargo for this client. He says: "We have completed a project for them where the total value was USD2.5 million. We have just secured the last phase of the project. The entire project is worth around USD8 million."

Since the company was launched in March, 2010, Cruz Logistics has moved ten charters to central Asia, says Mani.

He adds: "This is the first time such a move of such containers in a charter, two 20' containers in one IL-76TD and two charters in two days, has happened."

A load bank is a device which develops an electrical load, applies the load to an electrical power source and converts or dissipates the resultant power output of the source. Consisting of transformers, they are built in shipping containers and weigh around 20 tonnes.
