Damco wins Nigeria contract

July 2 - Sinohydro Corporation Ltd, a leading Chinese infrastructure development contractor, has recently awarded Damco the contract for managing shipments to its Zunguru hydroelectric power project.

The Nigerian government aims to increase renewable electricity through its Renewable Energy Master Plan projects, such as Zunguru. 

Damco will handle the transit clearance of the cargoes in the ports of arrival and transportation of materials and equipment to the site for this project.

Greg Guan, Damco's Chinese key account manager for Central Africa, said it has "proven experience in the region." Whilst Chen Nengyou, logistics manager of Sinohydro's Zunguru hydroelectric power project agreed that Damaco has "knowledge of business in Africa" and that Sinohydro is "very satisfied."
