dship Carriers’ latest newbuild multipurpose vessel, Mick, has gone into service as the company continues its fleet expansion programme initiated in 2018.

Taizhou Sanfu Shipping is building a total of four multipurpose vessels for the Germany-headquartered carrier, which is part of the deugro group. Mick is the first of these vessels; the second is scheduled for delivery this summer, while the third and fourth ships are under construction and set for delivery in 2020.

dship Carriers said its fleet expansion involves increasing not just the number of vessels it operates, but also its lifting capacity.

“Mick, for instance, comes with a combined lifting capacity of 500 tonnes. With the main hold of over 75 m, it allows for the loading of extremely long cargo under deck, offering clients even more storage options,” dship Carriers said.
