July 14 - HeavyLift@Sea has worked together with SeaRenergy Offshore to develop a new offshore assistance vessel (OAV), SR1.

The two companies explained that the vessel was developed with a cost-efficient propulsion arrangement, as well as low fuel consumption and maintenance cost.

The shape of the vessel is designed to reduce motion and increase comfort for technicians in order to mitigate risk of sea sickness and weather downtime, especially in the harsh conditions of the North Sea. It accommodates up to 60 people.

With the vessel's cargo transfer system, spare parts and components weighing up to 300 kg can be handled without the use of a crane.

HeavyLift@Sea was founded by ex-SAL director, Lars Rolner, who set up new heavy lift shipping company United Heavy Lift earlier this year.
