Construction of Royal Wagenborg’s third EasyMax vessel has started at the Royal Niestern Sander shipyard in the Netherlands.
Wagenborg ordered the vessel earlier this year, as HLPFI reported here. It is slated to enter service in 2023.
The EasyMax concept is a multipurpose vessel with a cargo capacity of 14,000 tonnes and was jointly developed by Wagenborg and Royal Niestern Sander. This latest vessel will join sisterships Egbert Wagenborg and Máxima in Wagenborg’s fleet.
Shortsea shipping player Wilson placed an order for the construction of six 3,800 dwt newbuildings, plus an option for eight more. Wagenborg, meanwhile, is pressing on with EasyMax newbuilds.
