November 25 - Goldhofer, the specialist manufacturer of trailers for heavy and over-dimensional cargoes, has unveiled a new heavy-duty expandable semi-trailer, designed for specialist heavy hauliers which also do more routine work with a wide range of pay

Goldhofer's STZ-H8 trailer can be expanded to 9-axles which is ideal for customers whose routine transport requirements can be met sufficiently with an 8-axle semi-trailer, but which occasionally require higher payload capacity.

With the addition of a ninth axle, the tractor/semi-trailer combination has an increased technical payload limit of 98.9 tonnes.

Goldhofer says that it is able to offer this flexible concept in various combinations, customised for a client's particular requirements.

Goldhofer has also developed an innovative and straightforward solution for the transportation of VESTAS' new 2-MW nacelles Mk6 and Mk7 in close collaboration with VESTAS engineers and the haulage company Torben Rafn. The vessel bridge system offers a maximum payload of 95 tonnes in combination with a 10-axle heavy-duty modular system.

Goldhofer says its new system accommodates the unusual centre of gravity of nacelles, taking into consideration both the longitudinal as well as the lateral offset. This achieves even axle loads, even in rough terrain.

The side-mounted attachment and fastening of the longitudinal member makes nacelle loading / unloading a simple procedure in restricted spaces.
