Hareket calls on Enerpac for thermal project

Hareket Heavy Lifting and Project Transportation has installed two sets of gas turbines and generators at the Takhiatash thermal power plant in Uzbekistan using an Enerpac SBL1100 telescopic hydraulic gantry.

The turbines and generators, weighing 357 tons (323.9 tonnes) and 292 tons (264.9 tonnes) respectively, were installed as part of an upgrade of the plant. The project involves the construction of two combined-cycle gas turbine units with a capacity 230-280 MW.

For the installation, Hareket used its Enerpac gantry to lift the gas turbines from SPMTs. They were then skidded 27 m along a gantry track and lowered onto a concrete foundation.

The generators were then lifted and skidded into place in front of the turbines.

“The SBL1100 gantry gave us the heavy lifting capability we needed to handle the turbines and generators easily and safely,” said Samet Gürsu, operations director at Hareket.
