Korean specialist joins UTC

May 22 - UTC Overseas has appointed Lloyd (Woo Sung) Bae as director of sales and operations for the company's Korea desk.

Bae will be based at UTC's headquarters in Houston. Since 2008 he has been working for a major freight forwarder in Houston, and has been involved in project cargo logistics services to/from Korean corporations serving customers in North America.

UTC vice president for project development, Matt Loll, explained that the sectors BAE was working in were shared with UTC's own interests, such as power generation and distribution, heavy equipment, mining and manufacturing.

"Bae's experience in freight forwarding, shipping strategy and management of project cargoes, coupled with his multi-lingual fluency and knowledge of business practices in Korea and throughout Asia, is a definite asset for UTC," added UTC executive vice president Marco Poisler.
