September 1 - Spedition Kuebler, a member of the Cargo Equipment Experts (CEE) network, helped Frankfurt-Hahn airport claim aviation history by dispatching the heaviest single cargo item seen via airfreight.

As we have already reported,a transformer weighing 189.89 tonnes became the heaviest airfreight shipment transported in one piece when it was flown from Frankfurt-Hahn to Armenia. The only aircraft able to uplift the transformer was the Antonov AN-225.

Kuebler organised road transport from Longuich, near Trier to Frankfurt-Hahn airport with its own equipment. The transformer had reached Longuich by barge on the Rhine and Mosel rivers before being transhipped to the Kuebler multi axle trailer, which was rolled onto the pontoon. In total the road transport had weighed 300 tonnes and had a length of 51m.
