The Netherlands-based Longship Group has added the 8,600 dwt Longeden newbuild to its fleet – the fourth and final vessel in the company’s series of diesel-electric general cargo ships.
The series was built at Atlas Shipyard in Türkiye and forms part of Longship’s plan to modernise its fleet with more sustainable maritime solutions. Longeden is 130 m long and has a beam of 16 m.
Longship also recently took delivery of Longsea, the third vessel in its S-Class series. Built by GS Projects in Waterhuizen, the Netherlands, and designed by Groot Ship Design, the vessel – like its sisterships Longsun and Longsky – features a single open-top, box-shaped hold and two moveable bulkheads for flexible cargo handling.
Upon delivery, the vessel was renamed Baltic Dream and has entered service under a time charter with Baltic Shipping Company.
Earlier this year, Longship’s newbuild general cargo vessel Longearth set sail on its maiden voyage.
