Master Projects, part of Tarros Group, has handled the transport and loading of a 200-ton (181.4-tonne) magnet at Terminal Del Golfo in La Spezia, Italy.

Italian manufacturer ASG Superconductors produced the magnet, which measured 12 m in length and 6 m in width. It is bound for the ITER power station that is under construction in France.

Master Projects used SPMTs and several support vehicles to complete the overnight move, with two mobile cranes lifting the cargo into the ship’s hold the following morning.

The company is transporting a total of 10 large magnets for the ITER project.
