November 13 - According to a statement from Panalpina, Weatherford and Halliburton, two major global players in the oil and gas sector and long-time Panalpina customers have awarded significant new pieces of business to the global forwarding and logistics

Weatherford is one of the largest global providers of innovative mechanical solutions, technology applications and services for all phases of oil and gas developments. The Group has awarded Panalpina with significant air and ocean freight export business from the United States and from Canada. In addition, Panalpina will be responsible for packing services for export shipments destined to Latin America, Africa and Russia. The appointment of Panalpina to handle this business will generate significant transport volumes to Latin America, Scotland, Africa and to CIS countries (except Kazakhstan). Weatherford operates in over 100 countries and employs more than 40,000 people worldwide.

Panalpina Houston was successful in winning all Halliburton airfreight business from the U.S. to Europe (except Norway). This traffic amounts to over 1,000 tonnes annually and will primarily be routed via the Dixie Jet service from Huntsville. In addition, Panalpina was able to retain business for lanes from the U.S. to Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Furthermore, Halliburton awarded Panalpina Canada with its air and oceanfreight exports from Canada to all of Europe (except Norway). Additionally, Panalpina Canada was awarded both air and ocean exports to Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa.
