A 230-tonne shiploader component, originally in use at BHP Billiton Mitsubishi’s (BMA) Hay Point coal terminal, has been uninstalled and shipped to Queensland’s port of Mackay, Australia.

Spliethoff’s heavy lift vessel Pauwgracht – operated by heavy lift-sister company BigLift Shipping – discharged the 50 m-long unit at Mackay’s Wharf One. The cargo was moved to a laydown area within the port using SPMTs.

Another shiploader component (an outer shuttle), which arrived at the port by road last month, will be lifted onto Pauwgracht and shipped back to the BMA terminal.

Pauwgracht is one of the ten vessels acquired by Spliethoff Group earlier this year that were previously operated by Hansa Heavy Lift.
