March 4 - Member of the Project Cargo Network (PCN) in Germany, Russia and Mongolia, Alexander Global Logistics (AGL), has coordinated the shipment of 2,000 freight tonnes of cargo from Sharjah, UAE to Apapa in Nigeria.

AGL handled all documentation, Customs clearance at both ends, surveys at both ends, loading, discharging and seafreight as well as chartering the ship.

 

 

Elsewhere, PCN member in South Africa, Afriguide Logistics, has handled the 600 km overland delivery of an Augusta Westland 189 helicopter from Durban to Pretoria.

The helicopter, which arrived in Durban on board a ro-ro ship, measured 14.6 m x 3.13 m x 4.04 m and weighed around 6 tonnes.

 

 

PCN member in Bangladesh, The Bengal Electric, was also awarded a contract for the Larsen & Toubro 225 MW Sikalbaha power plant project in Chittagong. Bengal will execute all of the heavy lifts, ranging in weight from 5 to 260 tonnes.

The project is scheduled for completion at the end of 2016 or beginning of 2017.
