Quality support for Clocaenog project

Quality Freight UK, part of the Peel Ports Group, partnered with Collett & Sons to move 27 wind turbines to the Clocaenog Forest project site in Wales.

Wind turbines being unloaded at Quality Freight UK's Ellesmere Port facility.

As HLPFI reported here, Collett completed the delivery of 270 components in July.

According to Quality Freight, the turbines were delivered to its Ellesmere Port facility across 12 shipments. They were then lifted on to trailers for onward delivery to the wind farm, which is being developed by Innogy.

Quality Freight UK’s managing director Sebastian Gardiner said: “In this particular case, we were working closely with our client Collett to ensure that the cargo was delivered on time to the end customer.”

Quality Freight UK provides chartering and port services from its 40 acre (16.2 ha) multimodal facility in Ellesmore Port. HLPFI readers will recall that Peel Ports acquired the company in May 2019 for an undisclosed amount.

At the time, Peel Ports Group said that the acquisition formed part of “our strategy to be a leading UK provider of port centric logistics solutions.”
