April 13 - The Netherlands-headquartered shipyard and construction company Ravestein built a linkspan at its yard in Deest, the Netherlands, which will be used at the Albert II dock in Zeebrugge, Belgium.

Ravestein explained that the linkspan will form part of a new movable ro-ro berth at C.Ro Ports' terminal. The major advantage of the new berth is that it can be moved to a new location at any time, and without the need for consultation with environmental agencies, said Ravestein. The linkspan has a capacity of 440 tonnes.

The jack-up will be towed to Zeebrugge within the next two weeks, where two linkspans will be attached (one existing and one newbuild pictured below), which will enable the berth to be moved.

Ravestein will execute the final installation in May 2017.
