Reports of STX Pan Ocean MOU with China's Zhenhua Logistics Group

March 12 - STX Pan Ocean, South Korea's largest bulk shipping line, is reported to have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Zhenhua Logistics Group covering heavy lift transportation services closely connected to offshore engineering projects.

The reports indicate that this MOU is mainly about establishing a heavy lift transportation operation using STX Pan Ocean's first semi-submersible heavy lift carrier STX ROSE and that under the MOU, STX expects to expand the activities of its heavy lift transportation business.

Readers will recall the article carried here on Februray 5th that the South Korean shipowner STX would launch a new heavy lift project cargo transport service.

At present, we are awaiting further information about the MOU from Zhenhua Logistics Group and STX Pan Ocean.
