Stevedoring company Townsville Marine Logistics, based at Australia’s port of Townsville, has acquired a mobile harbour crane (MHC) from Konecranes.

The electric Model 6 MHC is a two-rope G HMK 6507 variant, capable of lifting up to 125-tons (113.4-tonnes).

It also features a landside lowering function, which Konecranes said reduces noise pollution and the possibility of damage.

Konecranes added that the unit will use power from the port’s grid, which reduces the crane’s energy consumption and eliminates local exhaust emissions.
