March 26 - Earlier this week, Prince Filip of Belgium and Port of Antwerp alderman Marc Van Peel opened the Belgian port's second Indian branch office in Pune.

The new office joins the port authority's existing facility in Mumbai, opened in 2006. A third representative office in Nasik is also planned. Mumbai, Pune and Nasik are key cities in India's so-called golden triangles, one of the country's most important manufacturing regions.

As a key European gateway for Indian exports and imports, Antwerp, handled approximately four million metric tons of freight, dominated by steel, containers and petroleum derivatives, to and from India in 2009.
