Ukraine clarifies Antonov situation

August 1 - Following potentially misleading reports in some media, Antonov Airlines has issued a statement that seeks to clarify the situation in regards to the company.

Whilst the Government of Ukraine has decided to liquidate Antonov State Concern, Antonov State Company "continues to do business as normal."

In 2015, the Government of Ukraine decided to place the three enterprises within Antonov State Concern (Antonov State Company, Kharkiv State Aircraft Manufacturing Company (KSAMC) and State enterprise Plant 410 of Civil Aviation) under the management of Ukroboronprom

That left Antonov State Concern as a residual entity that is now being formally liquidated.

The company has sought to reassure customers and partners that "Antonov State Company continues to provide the full spectrum of aircraft development - from pre-project scientific research to construction, testing, certification, serial production and after sales maintenance."

Its production continues to be represented under the Antonov brand, as does the heavy lift air cargo services that it offers.
