The Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) has concluded its 19th annual membership conference in Muscat, Oman.

Approximately 80 delegates from across the world attended the event, which was held at the Sheraton Hotel from February 13 - 15. Sponsored by the port of Duqm, SAL Heavy Lift, Wallenius Wilhelmsen Ocean (WW Ocean) and PeriPlus, this year’s conference was hosted by Khimji Ramdas Shipping.

Rajesh Vaidyanathan, general manager of Khimji Ramdas Shipping, also acted as auctioneer for the network’s annual benefit auction, which this year raised over USD43,000 for the Association for the Welfare of Handicapped Children in Oman.

In the closed members only session, the network re-elected Ahmed Dahshan (Khedivial Marine Logistics, Egypt), Elmer Sarmiento (Royal Cargo, Philippines), Willy Hoffmann (BNSF Logistics, USA) and Dirk Roethig (LS Cargo International, Germany) to its board of advisors for a further 12-month term.

WWPC delegates also decided to hold the network’s 20th annual conference in Zanzibar, Tanzania. The conference will take place in September 2020.
