January 29 - Members of the World Wide Project Consortium raised USD 5,000 for charity at the network's annual conference, currently taking place in Mumbai.

An auction was held in favour of the Al-Jamia-Tul-Fikriya Educational Trust, established by WWPC member Suhail Shaikh, of Sahil Freight Express Private Ltd, India.

The items sold included model Antonovs, a sailing to Genoa with Rickmers Linie, weekend accommodation at the Beluga School for Life centre in Thailand and a large painting donated by Suhail Arts.

HLPFI's Luke King, attending the conference, said Fritz Mumenthaler, of General Transport AG, was a lively and humorous auctioneer.

"It was a pleasure to see the members of the WWPC in India and we appreciate their kind support for our trust," added Mr Shaikh.

The conference was opened by children from the AJF Islamic English and International School, who sang a welcome song for the attendees.
