Long Beach names interim ceo

September 21 - The Long Beach board of harbour commissioners is holding a meeting today to consider the appointment of Duane Kenagy as the Port of Long Beach's interim chief executive officer, following the resignation of Jon Slangerup.

Kenagy currently serves as the port's capital programmes executive, overseeing construction and improvement projects at the US gateway.

Kenagy and the commission confirmed that he would not be a candidate for permanent appointment as ceo, and the board will soon select a company to conduct an international search for its next chief.
