July 7 - New Orleans, the famous Big Easy, is the venue of the 20th Annual Breakbulk Transportation Conference and Exhibition, between October 13-15, 2009.
It will be held at the Ernest M. Morial Convention Centre. This event is not only the oldest breakbulk conference in existence, but also the largest.
"Breakbulk 2009 is a milestone for our company," claims Liam Power, vice president magazines, UBM Global Trade.
"This is our 20th anniversary producing the event which has over two decades explored many changes to the breakbulk cargo industry. It's no secret the global recession of the past year has been one of the worst. However, momentum is beginning to build for a new cycle of breakbulk recovery, which is something that we plan to delve into this year. "
The conference will feature a key note address by John Mika, senior vice president procurement at Ch2M Hill, panel discussions that will focus on the forecast of positive economic indicators, as well as coverage of the following topics: industry forecasts; cleaning up bills of lading; impending changes in INCO terms; sourcing steel; a regional roundtable on Brazil; barging breakbulk cargo; risk management in a buyer's market.
