Nichols appointed at Damco as new chief commercial officer

July 20 - Mark Michaels has been appointed chief commercial officer for North America for Damco, effective August 1, based at Damco's North American head office in Madison, New Jersey.

Michaels is an industry veteran and has been involved in project cargo activity in government and military operations. He earned his Master's in international logistics from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Damco is an independent business within the A.P. Møller - Maersk Group and in 2009 had a net turnover of over USD 2.0 billion

January 20 - Bolloré Transport & Logistics, Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC) and Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) plan to invest USD150 million to develop and operate a ro-ro terminal in Port Saïd, Egypt.
