January 29 - Polynesian Shipping Line (PSL), which is owned by Neptune Pacific Line, has concluded an agreement to merge with Pacific Forum Line (PFL) with effect from January 31, 2016.

As a result of the merger, PSL and PFL will form one entity, trading as Pacific Forum Line, which will continue to be managed by Neptune.

Over the coming months, the two companies will merge into one significant shipping and logistics provider focusing on the Pacific islands.

The merged company will offer shipping and agency services, container park and servicing facilities, warehousing, air freight and sea freight forwarding, equipment sale and hire, and global NVOCC services.

Neptune managing director Rolf Rasmussen said: "Polynesian Shipping Line was acquired by Neptune in September 2014. The business has considerable support and capability across the Pacific islands. It makes good sense to bring our partners in Pacific Forum Line onboard, and we are very pleased the Government of Samoa has agreed with our long term vision for this business."
