The British International Freight Association (BIFA) has appointed Chris Packwood as its member engagement advisor, where he will focus on supporting issues raised by individual corporate members.
Packwood boasts more than three decades of experience in the freight forwarding and logistics industry, having previously served as managing director of Geodis UK. He has been a member of BIFA’s board since June 2024.
“His vast industry experience and reputation for integrity and innovation make him ideally suited to help us deepen our support for individual corporate members,” said Steve Parker, director general of BIFA.
In this newly created advisory position, Packwood will work closely with BIFA’s executive team, network of regional representatives, and board of directors, to provide guidance and dedicated support on matters flagged by corporate members. Packwood’s role is designed to reaffirm BIFA’s ability to respond with tailored, practical solutions while also enhancing its engagement with industry stakeholders.
Much of BIFA’s engagement with members is carried out by a network of regional representatives and consultants who support and engage with BIFA members across the UK and act as the ‘eyes and ears’ for BIFA at a local level in each of its regions.
Last month, BIFA opened entries for its 2025 Freight Service Awards.
