The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) has made alterations to its senior team following its controlling council meeting in Hong Kong.
Having served as vice chair of ICS since 2023, Dubai-based Krishnan Subramaniam takes over as international chairman from Luis Bernat. With more than three decades of experience in logistics, supply chain and training roles in the oil and gas and petrochemicals industries, Subramaniam also serves as chief learning officer at Transworld.

“Many ICS members and fellows know my long-standing passion for the Institute and the career pathways it creates for shipping professionals. I remain a committed advocate of our mission and bring that conviction into this role,” said Subramaniam.
Marc Buchholz steps into the role of vice chairman, having served as chairman of the ICS German branch from 2005-2015 and is currently branch president. Buchholz boasts upwards of 30 years of experience in the shipping industry, having founded the ship management company Conmar Shipping in 2012. He continues to serve as managing partner at the firm.
Founder and managing director of the Hellenic Management Centre since 1999, Natalia Margioli becomes vice president of ICS. She is a fellow of the ICS and vice chair of the ICS Greek branch, the latter of which she established in 2005.
Earlier this year, ICS officially recognised Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy (ADMA) as an international teaching centre.
