The Spliethoff Group has confirmed the acquisition of a further five Hansa Heavy Lift vessels.
The deal includes HHL Richards Bay, HHL Fremantle, HHL Kobe, HHL Tokyo and HHL Lagos. The vessels will be renamed Pauwgracht, Poolgracht, Pietersgracht, Paleisgracht and Pijlgracht, respectively.
These vessels are in addition to the five tweendeck Hansa ships that Spliethoff acquired in January 2019, as HLPFI reported here.
Following this latest acquisition, there is only one vessel from Hansa’s fleet remaining, the HHL Rio de Janeiro. A spokesperson from Spliethoff advised that the company is unable to make a comment about this vessel at this time.
