Svensson to shoot off 23rd BUSINESSrun

September 3 - Flensborg and Associates, the Munich-based sales and consulting firm, has announced that Peter Svensson, senior vice president and head of Clipper Americas will fire the starting pistol at the 23rd Breakbulk BUSINESSrun in Houston.

The run will take place on October 7th during the forthcoming Breakbulk Americas conference and exhibition.

The BUSINESSrun combines athletics, networking and charitable fundraising for professionals in the heavy lift and breakbulk industries, with visitors and exhibitors from the Breakbulk Americas conference and exhibition participating.

Hundreds of runners have taken part in previous BUSINESSruns in cities including Antwerp, Houston, Singapore, New Orleans, Munich, and Shanghai, with more than USD50,000 being raised for charitable causes.

The BUSINESSrun event circuit is the brainchild of Anders and Katrin Flensborg, who lead Flensborg and Associates.

The upcoming 23rd BUSINESSrun in Houston, will start at 08.00, offering a choice of two routes: 4 km for less ambitious runners and 8 km for more athletic participants, starting and finishing at the George Brown Convention Centre, Breakbulk America Entrance.

Sponsors of the run include Clipper Group, Port of Antwerp, J Poulsen Shipping, CSX, BNSF Logistics, Texas Terminals, Zuidnatie, Port of Houston, Port of San Fransisco, ITJ, Breakbulk Events & Media, and HLPFI.

The run celebrates round figures, with more than five years of BUSINESSruns, more than 1,000 professionals from the global maritime and transportation industries have donated more than USD50,000 for local charities at leading transportation events around the world.

The participation fee is USD35, with all the proceeds being donated to a local charitable organisation, Houston Food Bank, a non-profit organization that collects and distributes food to hunger relief charities.
