July 22 - UTC Overseas has restructured its Baku-based Azerbaijan operation from UTC Overseas Ltd to UTC Caspian Ltd.
The branch remains under the management of Elnur Mammadov, who has headed up the office since its establishment.
Mammadov said that the restructuring of the Baku office allows UTC to manage contracts in the country directly and provide hands-on service to major Azerbaijani companies, such as energy provider SOCAR.
"The Azerbaijani economy is strong, with major investments underway in oil and gas - including a new gas pipeline from Azerbaijan to Europe, set to go online in 2016," said Mammadov. "Regional projects are being developed for power generation, construction and agriculture. Additional regional plans include major infrastructure construction, cement plants, highways and mining."
"We plan on further expanding our staff in Baku in the months ahead to better serve expanding demand for our services," he added.
