COSCO Shipping has taken delivery of a significant order of SPMT axle lines and power pack units (PPU) from TII Scheuerle, with the logistics group now operating the largest SPMT fleet in China.
This latest order included Scheuerle SPMTs that have an axle line load of 48 tonnes.
With several hundred axle lines of SPMTs, COSCO deploys the vehicles for a range of heavy transport operations either itself or through its subsidiaries, including offshore projects, infrastructure projects or the transport of components weighing several thousand tonnes.
Last month, NXGEN expanded its fleet with an additional 100 axle lines of SPMTs from Scheuerle, meanwhile COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers launched its newest flatrack container, a composite-material ultra-wide model.
