Available since 2024, the simulator permits effective 4D training and assists customers in training their crane operators. “Our aim is to create a simulated crane world with Liebherr and various other crane models,” said Freddy Lund, ceo of Tenstar Simulation.

Presently, superstructure operation can be simulated using an LTM 1060-3.1. The simulator has recently been expanded, with new features such as supporting the crane along with attaching and detaching the hook block assembly.

“At bauma, we noticed an enormous rush for our simulator. Customers were enthusiastic and surprised at how far development has already progressed,” added Julian Rupp, product manager at Liebherr.

The simulator is equipped with three screens, a master switch, a seat on a moving platform and VR goggles. It is available in 25 languages and offers several tutorials to train crane functions such as turning, lifting, telescoping and luffing.

Last week, HLPFI reported that RT trans had added a Liebherr LTM 1650-8.1 mobile crane to its roster, becoming the largest crane in the company’s fleet.
