Indonesian chemical manufacturing firm PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (PKT) has added a first Liebherr mobile crane to its fleet, bringing in the 230-tonne capacity LTM 1230-5.1.

“The single-engine concept ensures economical operation, and the 75 m telescopic boom is indispensable for our daily lifting tasks,” said Joko Susilo of PKT, adding that, “the compact dimensions and small slewing radius are the ideal solution for our confined working areas.”

PKT will primarily use the five-axle crane for lifting plant components at its Bontang, Indonesia, production site – of which the company operates five ammonia, five urea and three nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (NPK) plants.

“With the LTM 1230-5.1, we can maintain and modernise our plants flexibly and safely,” added Susilo.

Last week, HLPFI reported that Mammoet had added a pair of Liebherr crawler cranes to its fleet.
