November 12 - Super Industries subsidiary Westmor Industries has taken delivery of a new Shuttlelift SL 50II rubber-tyred mobile gantry crane.

The new SL 50II is the company's first Shuttlelift purchase and is now in service at Westmor's tank division in Morris, Minnesota.

The new crane has replaced the outside crane service that Westmor used to rely on every time it needed to make a lift.

Kurt Minten, Shuttlelift's director of industrial sales said that this is a much better lifting solution for the company, because it gives Westmor control over its own material handling requirements.

Westmor's production manager Jason Cook echoed this sentiment: "We no longer need four guys in the yard helping the crane operator. One guy can load and unload all on his own. We used to have a boom crane here four times a week, four one to two hours each time."

The SL 50II features options such as increased gradeability through additional drive motors, which allows the crane to travel over inclined or uneven surfaces.

The Shuttlelift model was also designed with an extended wheelbase to accommodate Westmor's longest tank weldments, which are 90 ft (27.4 m) long.
