Equipment manufacturers suspend production

Crane manufacturer Tadano and trailer manufacture Broshuis have announced a temporary shut down of their production sites.

Tadano said that it will temporarily halt production at its German production sites in Lauf and Zweibrücken. From April 1, Tadano will introduce short-time working for large parts of these production sites.

“The temporary cessation of production is unavoidable, because the international situation is increasingly leading to necessary deliveries failing to arrive and is also making the delivery of cranes considerably more difficult,” said Tadano.

Meanwhile, Broshuis will shut down its factory in the Netherlands, which produces specialised transport trailers and multifunctional container chassis, on March 30.

"Working with heavy components in combination with the 1.5 m distance rule makes working safely simply impossible,” said Pieter-Bas Broshuis. “To ensure that our customers' fleet can continue to roll, our service and maintenance will continue to support these customers.”

Broshuis currently expects to resume production in early May.
