Blades travel through Emden

EPAS Ems Ports Agency & Stevedoring has handled the offloading of 24 wind turbine blades at the Seaports of Niedersachsen's north quay in Emden, on behalf of turbine manufacturer Enercon.

The cargo arrived at the port from Brazil onboard the multipurpose vessel Orange River. According to the Seaports of Niedersachsen, with a draft of 10.9 m and a length of 189.9 m, it is one of the largest vessels allowed to sail into the inland port of Emden.

Each blade measured 44 m in length and is destined for the onshore wind farm at Nordkai.
