The first turbine components have set sail for the Clarke Creek wind farm in central Queensland, Australia.

Windlab is constructing the wind farm for Squadron Energy. The turbine components will make port in Gladstone within the next few weeks and then begin their journey to site by road from early January 2023. Blue Water Shipping is coordinating delivery of the items.

Each of the 24 turbine blades visible above deck are 76 m long and weigh more than 22 tonnes.

The wind farm is part of the AUD3 billion (USD2 billion) Clarke Creek renewable energy project. Under development in two stages, it will comprise an 800 MW wind farm, up to 400 MW of solar installations, and a battery energy storage facility
