DAKO Worldwide Transport has delivered a 317-tonne gas turbine, along with associated components, from Hamburg, Germany, to the Sarir power station in Libya.
The operation began with ocean transport to Benghazi, followed by a complex overland route of approximately 600 km across desert terrain. The inland leg required extensive logistical coordination, including road repairs and reinforcement to accommodate the oversized load.
DAKO’s local technical team in Libya supervised the inland transport, ensuring the turbine reached its destination safely and on schedule. The unit will replace an existing turbine at the Sarir power station.
