Germany-headquartered project freight forwarder DAKO Worldwide Transport has shipped a heavy ball mill from Shanghai, China to the port of Lázaro Cárdenas in Mexico.

A key component in a retrofit for a global steel producer, the heavy ball mill measured 15.1 m x 6.17 m x 6.21 m and weighed 188 tonnes.

DAKO said that coordination and timing were key to the move, notably when the cargo was transferred from a barge to an ocean vessel.

Last month, DAKO delivered a gas turbine and associated components from Germany to Libya.
